Interactive Community Exclusively for Moms' Groups

www.mothersclick.com

Now, my kids are beyond the age of playgroups and with my schedule I couldn't be involved in a co-op, but this site looks good and might just work for organizing car pools from cheerleading and soccer practice to games, etc. Anyway, its certainly worth a check out! Here's an excerpt below from the press release.

Inspired and co-founded by first-time mom, Andra Davidson, MothersClick is a dynamic and interactive community designed exclusively for busy moms and mothers’ groups. MothersClick provides the tools and services for organizing and managing group communications, events and activities, such as playgroups and co-ops, and it helps maximize the value of moms’ time spent online by sharing knowledge; asking questions and finding answers to the experiences of motherhood and parenting. MothersClick is headquartered in San Francisco, Calif. For more information, visit www.mothersclick.com.

As I dug around a bit, you can find other's in your area and join an existing group, start a group, ask questions, etc. If you're going on vacation, ask the locals what the good places to stay with kids are.

And then there are blogs to read. Yes, blogs. Mommy blogs. Need I say more?

MIAMI, April 12, 2010 – Rio Roses® today announced the launch of its Mother’s Day photo contest, which will accept submissions via Facebook through Mother’s Day (May 9, 2010). The contest calls for individuals to send a photo along with a brief essay (no more than 500 words) describing what makes their Mom, or another Mom in their life, extraordinary and why they deserve to receive Rio Roses® for a year. Rio Roses® will send free roses for a year to the Mom in the Grand Prize-winning photo.

“While Mother’s Day is just one day of the year, we want to remind people that Moms should be thanked and applauded for all they do every day of the year,” said Marc Blatchley, Marketing Director at Rio Roses®. “This contest gives people the chance do to just that, while sharing their stories with the world.”

All photo submissions must be received by midnight on Mother’s Day, May 9. Public voting for the contest begins on May 10 and ends May 16, 2010. Photos and essays will be judged on originality, overall impression, and number of votes from Fans and/or Friends. One lucky Mom will receive four dozen Rio Roses® sent every three weeks for 52 weeks (Grand Prize). The Mom who wins Second Place will receive 100 Rio Roses® on her birthday.
